I am trying to decide which paint gun to buy. I am a novice at spray painting. I am doing a frame off restoration of a 53 Studebaker and this will probbaly be the only car I ever do. I want to do as much of it as I can so I plan to prime and paint the chassis. I will prime and prep the body but have a pro paint it for me.
I don’t want to spend a lot of money on a primer gun and I wouldn’t trust the H-F $20 gun to work well. So I have narrowed down my choices to either the Devilbiss Startingline kit or the Eastwood Evolution gun. The Devilbiss kit comes with a top coat gun and a primer gun, 1.3, 1.5, and 1.8 tips, regulator, brushes, etc. The Evolution comes with a 1.4 tip. By the time I add a 1.7 tip and a regulator, it is in the same price range as the Devilbiss 2 gun kit. Which of these would you buy?
