Howdy all…..I’m new to powder coating, but I have been looking at it for some time now. I have checked out the basics of the process (cleaning…..blasting…….preping…..and coating), but the one thing that I have not been able to find is when during the baking process is any maskings removed. I know there are high temp tapes and silicone plugs to use, but again…nothing tells me when they are removed. I think I have figured out that if you leave the maskings on for the entire cure time, your gonna play hell getting them off after that. I believe (from reading and deduction) that any maskings should be removed after flow-out and before full cure. Am I right or am I barking up the wrong tree? Thanks in advance, Jim.
