    Howdy guys,
First post, nice to be here, but not sure if I’m posting this thread in the right place?

I’m refinishing two driveshafts from a Toyota Landcruiser while I have them off the vehicle to replace the U-joints. They are in relatively good shape (southern vehicle), hardly any surface rust as 99% of the original paint is still present. I noticed that they apparently do not have any primer from the factory, just whatever chassis paint Toyota uses.

Can anyone suggest how to prepare these for repaint? Should I remove all the old paint down to bare metal? That would be a lot of work, or should I just clean them up with ?? and spray paint over the old paint??

Also, which is the best paint to use?

    Thanks
