Ok guys, I still can’t figure out what I am doing wrong. It seems like it is not powder type related since I have this ongoing problem with different colors.

I have tried less powder on the part, more powder, etc. I just can’t seem to get the feel for this. I used to think it was orange peel, but now I am not so sure.

I had some aluminum test pieces made up since I had some extra metal laying around. The part was blasted, cleaned, outgassed at 450 degrees, and then cleaned again. Let it cool down to room temperature and shot it. Put in a preheated oven at 400 degrees, then after the part itself reached 400, I set my timer for 15 minutes, as per the instructions.

Here are some pics. What am I doing wrong? I am shooting single stage chrome. The DSC00030small is the light coat and the DSC0031small is the heavier coat. Still getting the same finish.

    Any input?

    Thanks

    Shawn
