This is my first post to the Eastwood forums. Looks like a great place to get advice. I am not sure if the welding forum is the right place to ask my question…but thought I would try here first.
I have a couple of pin hole leaks around some old welds where the shock extension and lower control arm plate is welded onto the axle tube. This is causing rear diff fluid to drop out and onto the floor beneath my car. After jacking the wheel up so the fluid cannot run out anymore and cleaning the area off with brake cleaner fluid, it appears that these pinholes are fairly minor.
My question is….Can these be patched with JB Weld rather than having them re-welded at a shop? I do not have a car lift or welding equipment and these areas are tough to get at, so I am wondering if I can get away with the JB Weld material. Any comments or advice is welcome! Thanks!
