I have a 1979 van that has some type of seam sealer covering the inside of the roof drip rails. The sealer is shrinking and cracking and needs to be removed and replaced. There is rust underneath it where water has gotten under it that needs to be addressed as well.
The sealer doesn’t look like the brushable seam sealer in the engine compartment, it’s much thicker looking and very smooth. I was wondering if brushable sealer is the best thing to use and will it work okay if I apply it thicker?
