Been reading a lot on RE. I am restoring an XJ-6 for my wife, which has the typical rust around the windshield seal. It has not gone over halfway through the metal at the worst, so no holes, but the pitting is pretty deep, and creeps out from the seal area about an inch in places. My question is, can I get away with cleaning, RE, fill the pitting over the RE (laquer putty, or similar, and final finish?
