I just shot my first few pieces of PC with less than stellar results. I’m simply experimenting with 1/8″ (depth) flat stock aluminium. It was sanded and cleaned with acetone and heated at 450 before PC. As per instructions in the HotCoat Gun manual I let it flow at 450 degrees and backed down to 400 for twenty minutes. I ended-up with a texture that may be considered orange peel but more importantly, the finish was somewhat translucent at spots.
Frankly, I find the texture pleasing for some projects but, I’m looking for a completely smooth finish at this point.
