I’ve had my Eastwood model 198 Hotcoat gun since about 1996 I believe. It’s still working fine for me today! The only issue that’s developed is a sticky trigger plunger, and no doubt it’s from lots of use. It’s so sticky that I have to barely brush the trigger in short bursts, or the plunger pin will stay stuck in the body for a few seconds and put out WAY too much powder. If it’s important, the model number cast into the gun is DG-10.
After I loosen the 1/2″ retaining nut from the body, can I then just remove the plunger pin from the body for cleaning? And what’s the best solvent for cleaning- acetone or something else? Anybody else already done this?
