    Hi Kevin,

I’m restoring a 1984 Mustang 20th Anniversary Edition. I’ve decided to strip the paint to bare metal as the original paint is badly weathered and cracked in places. Would it be best to use soda or walnut shells to strip the paint? What are the advantages and disadvantages of each? What about chemical strippers?

A second question, if I might. The very bottoms of the doors have some rust that I’m going to remove using Aluminum Oxide. I then plan to use some body filler to “rebuild” the lower lip. What type of filler would be best and what can I use inside the bottom of the door cavity to help stabilize the rust and prevent more?

    Thanks!
    Joe
