Kevin, I have started long-term bodywork on a 1976 BMW 2002. I will be doing floor and rocker repairs, and stripping to to metal using chemicals, sodablasting, and sanding. I have already exposed metal that will not be painted for many months. I have four major questions: 1. What type of primer should I cover the rust free exposed metal with?
2. What type of primer should I use on interior areas where the orignal primer and paint are good but scratched deep enough to have rust issues?
2.What sequence of converter/encapsulator/primer (type?) should I use on areas with rust that I cannot remove?
3. What sequence of converter/encapsulator/seam sealer/primer (type?) should I use on areas that need seam sealing?
I know to use weld through primer where I will be doing sheet metal repairs. Are all of the primers good for long term before filler and paint?
Your DVDs have helped a lot so far.
Thanks,
