I’m having some trouble getting a good finish with chassis black (10025Z). It will look perfect when it is wet but after it dries it will have sandy looking splotches. The splotches can be various sizes and shapes. At first I thought it might be some incompatibility with the primer I was using so I switched to the Extreme Chassis black primer. Unfortunately it made no noticable difference. I’m painting parts that are stripped to bare metal and there does not appear to be any problem when the primer goes on. Have you got any theories or suggestions?

One other observation, unrelated. The Extreme Chassis black primer is extremely thin and will run if you look at it. This is going to take some getting use to.

    Thanks in advance,
    Welby
