Am starting restoration of a 1950 Ford 2door sedan. The entire body is badly pitted with rust, and in some areas, will replace with patch panels, but need help with prep. Plan to go down to bare metal, and already have your rust converter product. How would you recommend that I approach this situation; strip old paint, grind/sand down to bare metal, apply rust converter, wash down car, then use filler or body putty to level out pits, then primer? Interior is going to have the same challenges on the dashboard, etc.,. I really want to maintain all the old metal if possible, and a couple areas on the hood will require welding of through-holes. Want to have a smooth surface to finish to.
