Last year I purchased new wheels and rotors for my Z3. Because the new wheels allowed much of the rotors to be seen, I had the rotors nickel plated, assuming they wouldn’t rust. However, this spring, I noticed little rust spots all over the rotors (car was in storage over the winter and never sees road salt) Is this rust bleeding through to the iron or is the nickel itself rusting? I was able to polish it off, but this is time consuming. (necessitating wheel removal) Can I use oxysolv here instead. Also, about 6 mos. ago, I asked here if I could use zoop on them and was advised that zoop couldn’t handle the high temps but that you were working on a product that could. Any progress on this? If not, is there another clear coating that would work?
