The under side of my car is covered with surface rust . No rust through . I want to stop any further damage . I am thinking of removing the gas tank , exhaust , etc. and coating it with rust ecapsulator . My question is how do I prepare the rusty surface ? Would a wire brush be sufficient ? And what would be the most effective way to apply the R/E ? Brush ? spray ? Thin or thick coats? How would the experts do this . Keep in mind I don’t have a lift so I would be working on my back with the car jacked up as high as possible . Also , would it be a good idea to apply rubberized under coating over the R/E or something else ?Thanks for your chat board . It is a great source of info .
