I am restoring a 1973 BMW tii. I removed the front fenders and there was some kind of caulking between the fenders and the body. It was not seam sealer because it did not dry. It remained soft and pliable. The consistency was a little firmer than play doe and was a gray color. People have told me to use seam sealer, but I know that it is something different. It was about 1/8 inch thick and about an inch wide and ran along the whole length of the fender where it buts up against the body. Does anybody have any thoughts?
