I have been searching for the answer to my specific question but haven’t found it yet so I thought I would post.
I powdered coated a air filter lid with reflective chrome, and clear coated it. Because the part was so badly rust pitted, I west sanded down the first coat of the reflective chrome to smooth it out some. I then dried it in the oven, let it cool, established a solid ground and recoated the part. It came out fine. I then let it cool, established a solid ground and clear coated it. The part came out feeling smooth, yet with a cracked appearance.
I am just wondering if it was the 2nd coat of Reflective Chrome, or too much clear coat. I did another piece at the same time that I did not 2nd coat with Reflective Chrome and it looks great.
