I have a pair of long tube headers, I bought them already coated so I’m not sure of the brand of the ceramic, but it is the chromex shiny ceramic.

They have never been installed and never fired on since being coated, but they were slipped back together into the collectors – My problem is that I need to get the tubes and collectors back apart to ship them.

They’re stuck together pretty good tho, and any harder with a rubber mallet and I’m going to dent them. I was going to take a torch to them, but I”m afraid to take an open flame to them since they have not been installed and fully ‘cured’ at engine temps.

Anybody know if an open flame will damage or discolor the coating at this point?
