I am currently refinishing my rims. I now have all rims painted black and clear coated. My last step is to clear coat the polished lips. I have Diamond Clear Gloss for bare metal, Part #10200Z. Because of the contours of the rim, it is too difficult to tape over the painted part of the wheel and leave the lip bare to spray. Will the diamond clear gloss ruin the paint on the rims if contact occurs? If it will, any suggestions on clear coating the lips? Should I just use regular clear coat that is safe for paint? Thanks….
