OK, I got the smoothing and buffing kits to redo the rattey aluminum wheels on my truck. I stripped off the clearcoat and am moving to the 80 grit compound to smooth out the corrosion and imperfections.
I had some problem loading the 80 grit on the wheel itself. How are you supposed to do it? I put the buff on a die grinder and put it against the compound, but it doesn’t seem to pick it up like it should. I tried at high speed and lower speed, but little luck.
I had even more problem with 220 grit which tells me I’m doing something wrong. I called your tech help desk and they suggested I put the compound in the microwave. That softened things up, but really didn’t help much.
Thanks for any advice.
