Some time ago, I had inquired about powdercoating older aluminium wheels. I was advised byan Eastwood moderator that the wheels may get brittle after the baking process. Based on that, I declined the project.
Now, I have been approached about coating some newer alloy wheels. They are less than 10 years old, from a Toyota truck.
That’s about all I know about them at this point.
So, the question becomes, are newer alloy wheels subject to the same possible brittleness as the older, alumninium wheels?
I appreciate your advice on this, as brittleness is not a quality I wish to have in a wheel.
