I have heard several differing takes. Some folks say that powder coating engine parts such as heads, cylinders and cases prevents these components from releasing heat. Has anyone here done any real temperature comparisons on painted vs raw vs powder coated motor surfaces ? I have a friend who used Eastwood products and equipment to coat the cylinders and heads of a customers antique Harley. The customer came back complaining the even though he retarded ignition and richened carburation his engine detonated after having it powder coated, Can you shine any light on this subject for me ?
