I have a tri power set up I would like to Powder coat. I realize that fuel and any type paint are not best friends. The carbs are 2 G’s and in past use have experienced very minimal if any leakage. With that said might one expect some reasonable expectation of product life from powder coating in this type application? I have used PPG’S concept for this application in the past with varying degrees of success. I would like to consider powder coat because I prefer the finish. On past applications I have bead blasted the bodies, baked them to remove oils and contaminates, treated the exterior of the parts with a metal prep material and used an epoxy primer before adding color finish. Would it be reasonable to consider powder coat if I followed that same prep procedure with the obvious exclusion of the epoxy primer?
