    Hello,
I am considering some wheels for a project and want a chrome finish. I have thought of purchasing the wheels in a painted finish and then stripping and polishing them. I realize a chromed surface does not look like a polished surface but I like the look. What are some of the pros/cons of polishing vs. chroming? It seems that a polished surface could be maintained where if chrome deteriorates it must be redone. I have read it can take 8 hours to polish a wheel. If time were money I would be money ahead by having them chromed. The wheels are a 5 spoke design that are fairly simple. I am willing to invest in any quality equipment I might need. I have a large shop air compressor.
    Thanks for any thoughts
    Tony
