I have a small general aviation plane with a three bladed aluminum propeller. It was polished several years ago by the propellar shop but now is showing some signs of corrosion and poor luster. Hand polishing has not been effective in maintaining it. Polishing must be accomplished with the propeller attached so I am considering using a flexible shaft on a motor but I am not sure how much HP I need for this. Would the smaller Pro Craft Bench top 1/8 HP unit be sufficient or do I need the 1/3 HP? Is a motor and flex shaft the best way to go? One person told me the larger motor with flex shaft has gyroscopic effect and can be unsafe to use and/or difficult to control? Any advice?
