Hey guys! Hope you had a good Christmas!! So I have sanded and polished a cast aluminum piece, and want to clear coat it. I figure I’ll have to outgas it, but I’m wondering what to do then. If I heat it up, i’m pretty sure it will discolor, and then i’ll have to polish it again. Won’t the pores open up again when the part cools, and compound and such will get in, and make the outgassing step a waste of time? Thanks.
BTW, I did shoot it right after polishing and PRE, and the clear turned into a frothy white mess in the oven (which i guess was from not outgassing it)
