I tried this in the Eastwood forum and haven’t had much response so I thought I would try here.

Selecting a “Red” color to match Ford Rangoon Red

I’m thinking about using Eastwwood single stage paint for my Street Cobra Roadster project. I’m wanting to match the old Ford Rangoon Red reasonably close. It was a non-metallic red with a very slight orangish cast. From your color charts I’m thinking your Reptile Red may be the closest to this (reptile – Cobra Maybe it’s more than a coincidence).

Is there any way to get larger color chips or a cross reference between Eastwood paint colors and other paint manufacturer paint codes? From my research the orginal code for Rangoon Red was A-1440-R and the PPG formula is supposedly 72143.

I understand there will always be variations and current paint products won’t match exactly the old lacquer and enamel paint formulas.

    Thanks

    Dan
