I am painting a Model A. I have it down to bare metal but there is some surface pitting. I have had trouble with rust reappearing after previous painting. I am planning rust encapsulator followed by urethane primer and topcoats.
I first used encapsulator on small areas needing filler. After waiting 10 hrs. I scuffed then used PRE to wipe and it appeared to remove a lot of the encapsulator even after 10 hrs.
My question is what do I need to do after applying rust encapsulator to prepare for my primer? Do I just spray over after it dries; or do I need to scuff or wipe with something? Unfortunately I’m in a time crunch.
Thanks,
Larry
