I’m new to painting so here we go…..

I’m wanting to paint my ’97 Suburban Flat black. I know Eastwood has the Rat rod paint kits and that’s probably what I’m going with. The original paint is in good shape, no flaking, fading, nothing. I have a few small dents (really shallow and not over 1/4 inch) that I think I can just fill in with body filler. Question is, If I do some minor body work, do I just prime those areas scuff the original paint and then shoot the flat back on or do I need to primer and seal the whole vehicle? I’m just wanting to go with a good single stage urethane if possible. Dead rat flat black would be my choice.

    Thanks
