My 71 lotus +2 was original yellow lacquer and repainted in lacquer 1980. It spent 8yrs exposed to the elements so the paint has some peel ,chips, and the body has cracking in stress areas. I will do the repairs but think it would be too much to try to remove all the paint from the whole car. The car will be sanded but not all the finish can be removed.
Can the car be painted with waterbased sealer then finished with base and clearcoat? or should it be finished with urethane? I am not up to date with the new paint finishes, so any advice will be appreciated.:confused
