I’m looking to find out the basics regarding painting various suspension parts both new and old.
I need to paint a number of new parts and want to find out the best process and products for the job. I’m guessing I’ll need various grades of sandpaper, pre-paint, primers, and paint. Does Eastwood provide step by step instructions? I just want to make sure I do it right the first time.
I also plan to remove and restore other suspension parts (control arms, sway bars, steering linkage etc). I don’t have access to a bead blaster so I’ll be using a wire brush to remove the bulk of the grime. Would you recommend acetone as a degreaser/cleaner after using a wire brush? Would I use the same process from this point as for a new unpainted part?
I appreciate any assistance or tips.
