    Hi,
I would like to be prepared with the best knowledge to paint panels on a chromed vintage motorcycle gas tank. The panels will be gloss black with gold pinstripes.

The Eastwood gold pinstripe paint is listed as metallic but that would not suit the vintage (1940) so is there a plain gold paint that I could use for the pin stripes?

I am scratching my head to know what is the best preparation to the chrome to great paint adhesion. After masking, should it just be lightly scuffed with a sand paper or a scotch brite or should a chemical also be applied?

I would paint the entire masked off panel with gold to start, then lay down the pin stripes with plastic tape and finally repaint the panel with black.

    Any advice?
    Thank you,
    Wade
