I tried to find this information on the Eastwood website. I have my car taken apart ready to be blasted, and I want to be able to paint it pretty soon after to avoid flash rust, so before I begin, I would like to know what each layer should be from bare metal to final clear coat. I’ve already got a clear and base that I think I’ll use, but can someone give me a complete list as if I were using Eastwood paints and primers? My biggest question is what goes on the bare metal after prepping it with metal wash.
As an example, here is what I think the process looks like, but I am unsure of the order and what products to use for each. Thanks for your help!
1. Bare metal (freshly prepped with metal wash or pre)
2. self-etching primer w/ zinc
3. seam sealer
4. body filler (where needed)
5. sandable primer (generic)
6. base
7. clear
