Newbie just checking in. I am a avid hobbyist that works with light to heavy gauge aluminum to make parts for the Kawasaki Concours.
I just picked up a new powdercoat gun and have been experimenting with different techniques. I now have a few questions
1. What is the best method for cleaning Alum? I have been using brake cleaner; but I am sure that is not correct
2. I hear people mentioning curing. This is just the process of after the product flows letting cool slightly, then bringing the product down to room temp slowly yes/no?
3. is there any tips or tricks that i need to know about when coating alum?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks….Chris
