Alright, I’ve got a conventional Home oven (I know, not the best to use but it’s all I can afford), blasting cabinet, hotcoat starter kit, and mirror black powder.

I’m wanting to do my 17″ impala SS wheels in this black.

    Here is what I know:
I need to strip the clearcoat, then blast the wheels, then clean them, outgas, coat while still warm, then fully cure.

Here’s what I’d like to know:
Will glass beads work OK for the blasting? I’ve seen that they’re not the material of choice but that’s what I’ve got loaded already…

Is there anything I need to use along with acetone to prep the wheels after blasting?

Does 450* for 20 minutes sound good for outgassing, then coating at around 200* and then full cure? (if there’s a better method here please let me know!)

    How long to full cure?

I think that’s about it, I really appreciate the info I’ve gotten so far and look forward to some expert opinions.

    -Steve
