First off I’d like to say hello. I’m currently a student in my second year of 2 to be an automotive technician and next fall I will begin automotive collision and refinishing. I’m considering learning how to do powder coating and doing it in my spare time. I’ve done some research but I’m definitely not done.

With that being said I have some questions.
    1. I plan on starting out small, will any conventional oven work?
    2. When I bake the part(s) do I have to hang them or do/can they sit on a rack?
    3. I see that the spray gun positively charges the powder as you spray, how do you negatively charge the parts that are receiving the powder?
    4. To clean/prep parts will play sand be an alright abrasive to use and start out with?

I plan on prepping by hand at first then investing in a blaster, abrasives, and a larger air compressor.

I will have more questions as I go but as for now thank you in advance 🙂
