Our custom formulated coating consists of iron oxide pigment particles coated on polyester film without binder.
We want to use a Eastwood lamp or oven to “weld” the pigment particles together without binder.
Scientists call this plasmonic welding of nanowires. Where individual needle shaped (acicular) particles overlap, the radiant energy creates a “hot spot”, which causes the particles to melt and weld together. Due to the tiny size of the particles, they melt at much lower temperatures than the bulk metals do.
