I was wondering what most people are using for that added protection layer between the metal/aluminum and the powder coating? I received my order of picklex last week and I have to say it works great! To anyone using phosphate and is tired of flash rust and having to rinse the parts, picklex is for you. This stuff prevents flash rust, turns surface rust into a coatable layer, promotes adhersion, helps to produce stronger welds and will stop weld splatter. All you have to do is spray it on a clean preped part and wait 2 minutes. Then wipe off excess and let it dry or dry in the oven. Once it is dry you can coat it. Provides that extra layer of protection without flash rust or rinsing! It is costly, but the time I save vs phosphate is worth it to me.
