I am stripping/sanding off a ’55 TBird. Some of the bare metal is exposed and being old school I generally would use metal prep on these areas followed by a primer. I intend to do the prime and filler coats myself and my painter (very experienced and good) said to use epoxy primer over bare metal. My question is, should I use metal prep on the bare metal as I have done in the past or just clean and coat the metal?
Second question is I have some areas where I used DuraGlas to fill some welds, etc. Will the metal prep affect those areas if I spray the entire section?
Comments and advice will be appreciated.
Cheers, Tom
