I have two future projects in which I need to do in order to get the parts I need to restore our 61 GMC burb. The first are the turn indicater lense covers.I have one good cover in which will be my template.I need to know how to make a mold in which I can reproduce a plastic lense cover in clear color?
the second project is trying to extend the length of a rear tail gate upper window support assembly. The assembly or lets call it support. Is steel formed channel ,I would say about 20 ga. material. My quandry is how to secure a extention on to both sides. If I weld on one side of the channel i need to keep the inside of the channel clear in which the inside channel can glide smoothly on the inside of the outside channel making the extension possible.I have found that corvette of the same year uses the same thing.the difference being the lenght I need 20″ and the vetts is 16 3/4″.I want to incorperate the two making one.for each side. Can you help?
