Lineal foot pricing

I’m usually pretty good at pricing my work, but I got one recently that has really got me scratching my head.

Got a call from a regular customer needing prices for 1-1/2″ pipe. I quoted him over the phone. Turns out, they’re threaded on both ends, ranging in length from 8″ to 3′, they’re covered in cutting oil, galvanized and have tool marks from the pipe threading machine at both ends. I told him when he showed up that the price was subject to going up based on how long the 12″ pieces take to do start to finish – that should give me a pretty good $/ft. price. I know I’m gonna have to eat this first batch, cause I’m way too cheap, but there’s going to be a lot more of these to come.

Any ideas or guides for lineal foot pricing that some of you have dealt with before?

Who was it that did all that green fencing material?

    Thanks in advance.
