about 3 years ago i bought a new center console piece for my mustang, since the car is over 10 years old and its a odd ball one year only color (93 opal gray) i had to dye it. was my first attempt and it came out beautiful. yesterday i was out in the car and noticed the dye spider cracked really bad between the mirror controls and the ash tray…
now i asked a friend of mine that use to do paintwork and he said i might have put it on too thick? i dont think it was my prep work since it did last a decent while.
either way here are my main questions. since the piece is plastic and it does have a grain to it can i strip/prep it again to be dyed (spray can) or am i better off just getting a new one (80 bucks last time i looked)
does anyone also have any tips to avoid this from happening again?
