So I was doing my first Red Kote job and this stuff will stick to anything and forever. I somehow made a mess of it (came out and thought it had drained but a huge pool had started again and somehow spilled out petcock) anyway.. I got a bunch of spots of it on the tank and the only thing per the can’s instructions that cleans up Red Kote is MEK or acetone.
I know these are known enemies of Powder coat and can eat it. It’s a pretty good standard black gloss paint job and I think it might hold up to a bit of punishment but I’m really desperate for an alternative that would take off the tank sealant but not ruin the paint.
