    Kevin,
I like everyone else, for years have back masked flames and graphics to minimize blend lines, but since I’ve found this stuff it is fantastic. I buy it locally produced by a vender that I know personally, and it is used by companies that paint aircraft, to reduce air friction caused by paint blend lines. it is a soft bendable foam tape that is used to outline paint edges either straight or curved, then paper tape the other side, then paint as normal and pull it off, then clear and buff as normal.
One definite advantage is it can be laid, lifted, and laid again over and over until you get the shape you want just right.
