I did a search before creating this topic but didn’t find many surefire answers. I need to powder coat a motorcycle tank that has previously had gas in it.

I’m definitely concerned about the sparks generated through blasting as well as the heat it will endure in the oven.

I’ve seen tanks PCed before, and am wondering how you guys take the necessary precautions to assure a safe job. I’ve already drained the tank, cleaned it with a couple of cycles of warm soapy water and then sloshed around some alchohol to dry the tank.

The smell of fumes is nearly gone but nearly isn’t good enough. What process do you guys use?

    Thanks!
