I’ve read about (and lusted after) the IR guns for accurately obtaining temps for PC. I’ve seen it written that it’s almost a “must have” for PC, as it will tell you the true temp of your oven by using a large mass heated to 350 and comparing the oven reading to the gun and adjusting for the difference. But after that, is it needed again?
I bought a cheap shelf-type thermometer to test my oven’s temp. Is this good enough? Should I buy a better thermometer? Should I use a thermometer with every batch I coat?
