Hello, I’m new here and this is my problem. I have an 03 Anniversary Edition Wide Glide with a dent in it’s two tone paint. Silver over black. The dent is oblong vertically 3″ and about 3/4″ deep from the fork tubes smashing into it breaking the fork-stop. I know I can use the spot welder for the pins and a dent puller to pull out the dent. My question is this: I’m not keeping the stock paint, and do not wish to sand down to bare metal, or should I ? I believe I can remove the dent which is bare metal, and work to original surface and then repair that which will need a good primer filler, and other stuff to get it ready for paint. What I don’t know what kind of paint it is such as Acrylic, Enamel or what. Any information on what to do so I can do this myself and save some $$$ would be greatly appreciated. I am changing the color to either a metalic rootbeer bronze, or maybe even a colbalt blue, which I think has a silver basecoat. However, I’m not sure. Thank you in advance. LH
