Im fairly new to buffing……..i have buffed a few pieces of aluminum trim and a piece of stainless steel trim, and they turned out great. Im starting to buff stainless now, and some of the trim peices have little scratches (not surface scratches) and started sanding with 220, then 320, 500, 800, 1200. But apparently im not sanding enough with 320 i guess to get the 220 scratches out. Im using the emery and sisal buff. My question is…….can you use greaseless compounds on stainless to get scratches out? (use the 320 compound) Can you use Tripoli on stainless to help remove scratches quicker?
