I bought the Eastwood Gas Tank Sealing Kit and am ready to coat the fuel tank out of my old VW bus. I’ve read the instructions on the Sealer bottle and am now confused.
In the second paragraph of the instructions it states “Surface Preparation: Caution: … Tank must be absolutely dry and free of water before applying sealer.”
Then in the third paragraph “1. … plan the work so that the entire process is completed in one session. Do not allow tank to dry between sessions – move from one step to the next until complete.”
Does the acetone rinse in step 9. remove all the residual water from the previous aqueous operations?
If that isn’t the case what do you offer as an alternative to following the instructions?
