I have an old Mercedes with side chrome mouldings and I want to forego them to have a cleaner look.
I have used a MIG welder to previously fill-in the holes on another car, but that is time consuming, prone to distortion of the metal and evenmore bondo filling to blend the work.
Can something like Eastwood’s Body Solder kit(#11165) do the trick? Will it properly fill a 3/8th inch dia hole and be suitably hard enough?
I think I heard of a different kind of body solder, but forgot where I saw it on the Web, and that was used to fill holes without distorting metal.
